Same Old Thing
This is a three-in-one drawing in charcol and oil paint exhibited at Winchester School of Art. I placed it at the end of a corridor to permit the viewer to approach it whilst giving time for identification of it’s elements. It is composed of a drawing after Goya’s “Torture of a Man” placed over an image, commonly reproduced in the media in the 1990’s, of a hooded figure in the United States Detention Centre of Abu Ghraib. This work marks my first venture into transposition.
